I noticed that there are no listings or references for either experimental surgery or animal models.  As most pre-clinical work requires expertise in this field, it would be helpful to solicit those experts for consultation.

Try checking the 'search for exact phrase' box next to Keyword Search on UCSF Profiles. You'll find more than 150 people at UCSF with expertise in 'animal models'; use the 'Why?' links next to the names in the search results to explore that person's publications that include the concept as keyword. A search for the exact phrase 'experimental surgery' didn't find keyword matches (because there isn't a PubMed MeSH term that's similar). But there's a new feature on UCSF Profiles that shows you Google search results of all content in UCSF Profiles. More than 20 faculty profile pages use the term in the narrative or in publication titles. Find more UCSF Profiles search tips.
