Clinical Research Services Resources for Grant Applications
The CTSI-CRS provides the following boilerplate text to assist investigators in preparing proposals, grant applications, manuscripts and posters. The CTSI-CRS staff may assist you in making minor adjustments to text based on each unique grant application. These documents are intended to allow you to copy and paste into your grant or proposal documents and format as appropriate. Note that these documents are not prepared per specific sponsor formatting guidelines and requirements.
Letter of Support for Grant Applications
If you plan to utilize the CRS and are submitting a grant application, we can provide a letter of support. Please utilize the text provided in these sample letters and customize it for your needs:
- Letter of Support for projects that will use one or more sites (Word 136KB)
- Letter of Support for projects that will specifically use the PCRC/NCRC services (Word 148KB)
- Letter of Support for projects that will use the CRS Tenderloin Site (Word 135KB)
Send the draft letter, hypothesis/specific aims, and draft budget in separate text to the administrative director of the site where the majority of the study will be conducted and they will facilitate the signature by our Program Director. Find contact information for administrative directors
CRS Cost Estimate for Budget Proposals
Investigators who are submitting a grant application with specific CTSI-CRS resources must request a cost estimate to include in the proposal budget. Please contact crsbudgetrequest@ucsf.edu
CRS Resources Description
If you are submitting a grant application and need text for the "Resources" section, information is available for your use in these documents:
- Resources for all CRS sites (Word 29KB)
- Resources specifically utilizing the PCRC/NCRC (Word 64KB)
Publication Acknowledgment
For research supported prior to July 1, 2012:

For research supported after July 1, 2012:
